The entire application is just one executable, which you can extract from a ZIP archive and run immediately, without going through an installation process. Easy Dark Mode is designed for Windows 10, so you won't be able to run it on older systems. It doesn't rely on any third-party tools or drivers, and its resource usage is insignificant.

When launched, the application will place a new icon in the system tray, which you only need to click to switch to dark mode. This will make the system-native windows black, though the effect is most noticeable in Windows Explorer, where everything, including the background, is made black. Of course, you can switch back to normal at any time in a similar manner. Just click the icon and you're done.

If you don't find the system tray icon comfortable, you can bring up a floating icon on your desktop, which serves the exact same purpose. Double-clicking this icon will instantly switch you between light and dark modes. Additionally, you can right-click the icon to reveal a few options, for setting the application to start automatically, with light or dark mode already active. Furthermore, the application lets you set up your own hotkey, so you'll have another way of switching from one mode to another, without having to click any icons.

Unfortunately, the application doesn't affect the interfaces of non-Windows applications, but it does integrate with Chrome Dark Mode and Firefox Dark Mode, so you can take care of your eyes when surfing the web.
